After a small break, the Living Lighting, Scott Reinhart Trailer Sales Ltd. OSCAAR Pro Sprints are set to get back in action this weekend at Sunset Speedway, with their feature presented by PCI Imageware Corporation.
Daniel Hawn enters the event as the favorite as he has won all five features ran at Sunset Speedway for the OSCAAR Pro Sprints. He has also won all the features this season to date – except for Peterborough Speedway where he scored a runner-up.
On the flip side, James Stanley could easily stop the Golden Boy once again, just like he did at Peterborough Speedway. Stanley has finished 17 of the last 18 Pro Sprint events in the top-five, and has ran well at Sunset Speedway previously, scoring a runner-up in July with six top-four finishes in seven races.
Rob Summers has found his groove through the summer, with no finishes worse than fourth in the last four races. He has no finishes outside of the top-seven in his last six Sunset Speedway appearances, highlighted by a best-finish of fourth in July.
Gary Triska will be looking for another run this weekend, after scoring a top-10 in the 14 of the last 15 Pro Sprint events. He has finished in the top-10 in each of his previous appearances at the Innisfil, Ontario oval, including four eighth-place finishes.
Ryan Battilana will hope to score his first career OSCAAR victory this weekend, following seven podium finishes in the last 15 races. He has finished inside the top-four in each of his seven starts at Sunset Speedway, including a pair of runner-ups.
Jaden Riddell will be looking for his fourth career OSCAAR Pro Sprint victory after three runner-ups thus far in 2019. Although he has yet to visit the winner’s circle at Sunset Speedway, he has finished on the podium in three of the last four features.
Kevin Taylor hopes to continue finding speed, as he has yet to finish outside of the top-10 in 2019 with a season-best fourth, which came at Sunset Speedway in July.
Tyler Cullen has done solidly this season, with just two finishes outside of the top-five this season. He has been solid at Sunset Speedway in 2019, with a pair of fifths and a sixth.
Brian MacDonald made his return to OSCAAR Pro Sprint competition after a small break, scoring a solid 10th-place finish in June at Sunset Speedway. He then ran the event at Flamboro Speedway on August 24, scoring an 11th-place finish.
Brad Holmes got to hold his first Pro Sprint checkered flag at Sunset Speedway in June, winning one of his qualifying heats. He has been solid in feature race action, too, scoring three top-10’s at Sunset Speedway with a track-best seventh in May.
Dylan Little will hope to run in the top-10 on Saturday afternoon, after scoring a pair of top-10 finishes in the double features in July. To date this season, he has only missed the top-10 in two events.
Russ Couture will also be looking for some more speed, after finishing 12th at Sunset Speedway in June. He then backed that up with an eighth at Peterborough Speedway in August.
Rob McCall may only have two Pro Sprint starts under his belt, but he has been fast on both occasions with a pair of fourth-place finishes at Flamboro Speedway.
Beyond the drivers mentioned here, there are others who have a potential of appearing and making things interesting. Make sure to come out to Sunset Speedway on Saturday, September 21 to witness all of the action for yourself.
On top of the excitement of the Pro Sprint event, the night should be filled with excitement with both the Queenston Chevrolet Buick GMC OSCAAR Modifieds and Knightworks Design OSCAAR Hot Rods also on-hand. There is also qualifying heats scheduled for the track’s own Late Models, Super Stocks, and Mini Stocks, as well as features for the Ontario Legends Series and T.Q. Can-Am Midgets.
