With a feature victory and 28 top-fives last year, it’s safe to say that Allie Ditner had a great season at Flamboro Speedway in 2017. The No. 61 will be back in 2018, and Ditner offered some thoughts to SHORT TRACK MUSINGS on what is shaping up to be an even better campaign.
Coming off a solid rookie campaign, Jonathan Ayrton will once again be driving for the Fireball 5 Racing Team at Flamboro Speedway this season. However, it won’t be the same car as the team has switched from a front-wheel drive car, to a rear-wheel drive car following some driver input.
After a solid rookie campaign which saw him place in the top-10 of the year-end Flamboro Speedway standings, Matt Young will return to the 1/3-mile asphalt oval in 2018.
Making his debut mid-season at Flamboro Speedway, Erik Dalla Riva immediately impressed as he was able to visit victory lane on a pair of occasions before the year was over. He recently took some time to talk to SHORT TRACK MUSINGS about the experience, and more.

As part of the track’s banquet, the schedule for the 2018 racing season was distributed to attendees, before being posted online. As anticipated, it will be a jam-packed year with lots of action taking place every single week this year.
It seems with each season, tracks and series continue to step up their game in trying to market to fans and attract racers to their speedways. 2018 is no exception to the rule, given the amount of big events already announced.
Regardless, the schedules and events have been coming out quicker than ever, and it begs the question – where will we find you this summer, and what event are you looking forward the most? Feel free to offer your answers in the comments, but I will give you five events to think about.
All eyes will be on Flamboro Speedway on June 10 when they host their first ever “STOCK” Car Nationals, featuring the pure stocks, mini stocks and super stocks. Particularly, the Mini Stocks have garnered a lot of attention, thanks to the efforts by Rich Schwartzenburg to garner event, award, and lap sponsors to bring the purse to over $6800.
