Cole Weber Victorious in Flamboro Speedway’s Frostoberfest Feature

Taking the lead on a restart, Cole Weber led the rest of the way en route to winning the Qwick Wick OSCAAR Hot Rod feature fueled by EPIC Racewear at Flamboro Speedway.

Cole Weber won the first JRS Auctions heat in front of Dalen Martin, Steve Book, Paul Senior, Tyler Hawn, Martin Moran, and Bill Clarke.

There was a quick caution in the second qualifier for Ed Peterson going around in turn two. Rob Bromley picked up the checkered flag ahead of Steve Ecker, Nick Clarke, Ryan Cowan, Peterson, Mat Hopkins, Rodney Rutherford, and Matt Spry.

Bill Zardo Sr. was victorious in the third heat, followed by Tom Walters, Gary Hannah, Connor Ellis, Dave Evison Sr., Bob Parsons, and Rick Spencer-Walt.

The fourth qualifier had a quick yellow flag on Lap 1 for Evison Sr., spinning, collecting Weber with him. Tyler Hawn picked up the checkered flag, in front of Martin, Weber, Ellis, and Ron Parsons.

Steve Book won the fifth heat, ahead of Senior, Nick Clarke, Peterson, Bill Clarke, Spry, and Morin.

Tom Walters picked up the checkered flag, followed by Zardo, Cowan, Bromley, Book, Hannah, and Ecker.

Come feature time, Dalen Martin started pole in front of Cole Weber, Bill Zardo Sr., Nick Clarke, Rob Bromley, Paul Senior, Steve Book, Tom Walters, Tyler Hawn, Ryan Cowan, Connor Ellis, Ed Peterson, Gary Hannah, Steve Ecker, Dave Evison Sr., Bob Parsons, Bill Clarke, Rick Spencer-Walt, Matt Spry, Martin Morin, Rodney Rutherford, and Matt Hopkins.

The start saw a battle for the lead between Martin and Weber, as Zardo and Nick Clarke ran side-by-side for third. Dalen Martin got the lead on Lap 2, as the battle continued for third in front of Bromley, Senior, and Walters. Zardo got the spot on Lap 4 as Clarke got sideways, with Zardo climbing the backstretch wall a lap later. He kept going as if nothing happened, with Clarke remaining fourth in front of Bromley, Senior, Walters, Book, Hawn, Cowan, Peterson, Ellis, Ecker, Spencer-Walt, Parsons, Hannah, and Evison Sr.

Ecker took the 12th position on Lap 11, with Spencer-Walt trying to follow him through but unable to as they went by the lap car of Bill Clarke. Further up the field, Senior got alongside Bromley for fifth on Lap 16, completing the pass one lap later. Senior continued to move forward, passing Nick Clarke for fourth on Lap 20, bringing Bromley and Walters through with him. Clarke’s race went downhill from there, as he went around for a spin on Lap 22, collecting Peterson, Ecker, Ellis and Spry.

Cole Weber took over the lead on the restart in front of Martin and Zardo, with Bromley sliding sideways through turn four due to contact from Senior. The yellow flag then came back out, courtesy of Morin making contact with the backstretch wall. The restart saw Senior once again get into Bromley this time in turns one and two, with Senior getting sideways on the backstretch, collecting Book with him the process.

Weber held onto the lead through this in front of Martin, Zardo, Walters, Bromley and Ecker. Walters challenged Zardo for third on Lap 28, completing the pass one lap later, as Spencer-Walt ran seventh in front of Cowan, Book, Hawn, and Evison Sr.

Cole Weber led the rest of the way to the checkered flag in front of Dalen Martin, Tom Walters, Bill Zardo Sr., and Rob Bromley. Steve Ecker placed sixth, followed by Rick Spencer-Walt, Ryan Cowan, Steve Book, and Tyler Hawn. Dave Evison Sr. was 11th, ahead of Gary Hannah, Connor Ellis, Matt Spry, Bill Clarke, Paul Senior, Bob Parsons, Martin Morin, Nick Clarke, Ed Peterson, Rodney Rutherford, and Matt Hopkins. Jim Blackwell failed to start the feature.
