Showing speed through both features, Adrian Kemps swept the evening at Flamboro Speedway on Saturday in the Ontario Pro Sprints to prove the older gentleman can still get the job done.
Mark Hamacher started pole for the first feature in front of Logan Chapman, Richard Woodland, Lisa Hamacher, Ryan Wardell, Tyler Cullen, Ryan Brown, Wayne McKibbon, Ashley Bender, James Stanley, and Adrian Kemps.
Mark Hamacher grabbed the early advantage ahead of Woodland, with Cullen and Wardell side-by-side for third. Cullen got the spot, passing Woodland for third, challenging Hamacher for the lead on the second lap. However, there’d be a yellow flag for Stanley stopped on the backstretch. Under the caution, Ryan Brown pulled into the infield due to the chain falling off. With two laps on the board, Tyler Cullen led Hamacher, Wardell, Woodland, Bender, Lisa Hamacher, Kemps, Stanley, and McKibbon.
Cullen got a good restart with Wardell moving into second in front of Bender, Kemps, Mark Hamacher, Woodland, Lisa Hamacher, and Stanley, as McKibbon pulled off on Lap 5. The yellow flag waved a lap later for Lisa Hamacher around on the backstretch.
Cullen held serve with Kemps up to second in front of Wardell, Bender, Mark Hamacher, Stanley, and Woodland. Adrian Kemp’s climb through the field was complete on Lap 13, as he took over the top spot.
Adrian Kemps led the rest of the way for the victory, with Ryan Wardell second following a pass on Tyler Cullen with two laps to go. Ashley Bender and Mark Hamacher rounded out the top-five, followed by James Stanley, Richard Woodland, Wayne McKibbon, Lisa Hamacher, Logan Chapman, and Ryan Brown.
The second feature did not start off how James Stanley wanted, as he stalled before the green flag was thrown. Adrian Kemps grabbed the early advantage in the second feature in front of Tyler Cullen, Ashley Bender, Ryan Wardell, Lisa Hamacher, Wayne McKibbon, Richard Woodland, Mark Hamacher, Ryan Brown, and Logan Chapman. The first caution came out on Lap 8 due to Chapman stopping in turn three.
Kemps got a good restart in front of Cullen, Bender, Wardell, Lisa Hamacher, and McKibbon. Woodland moved into sixth on Lap 12, with Hamacher going around on the backstretch a lap later. Woodland took over fifth as a result, with McKibbon and Mark Hamacher side-by-side for sixth in front of Brown. The battle saw Brown drive up on McKibbon’s back wheel, allowing Hamacher to get the advantage. Hamacher then pulled in on Lap 16, with the yellow flag waving a lap later for Chapman stopping in turns three and four.
Adrian Kemps got a good restart, pacing the field the rest of the way to win in front of Tyler Cullen, Ashley Bender, Ryan Wardell, and Richard Woodland. Wayne McKibbon was sixth, followed by Ryan Brown, Mark Hamacher, Lisa Hamacher, and Logan Chapman.
