MILLGROVE, Ontario — Starting deep in the field, Luke Gignac missed placing inside the top-10 by a single spot on Saturday night at Flamboro Speedway.
Gignac started off the night by placing sixth in the lone heat, as the second round of qualifying was cancelled due to the night running later than expected.
Starting 11th for the 40-lap feature, Gignac looked to try and move forward in the early laps, but was unable to make up any ground in the first 10 circuits. Unfortunately, he got stuck on the outside lane in traffic, fading back a couple spots to 13th by the halfway mark.
He would look to move his way back forward in the second half of the 40-lap feature, gaining a couple more spots over the next 10 laps. Unfortunately, the race would be called at Lap 30 as a result of a significant incident in turns three and four. Gignac was credited with an 11th-place finish.
The next race for the Queenston Chevrolet Buick GMC OSCAAR Modifieds presented by Just Foam It is at Sunset Speedway on Saturday, September 17 and 18.
