INNISFIL, Ontario — As SKLD Motorsports catches their breath with a week off in the Sunset Speedway schedule, there are positive vibes surrounding the team following their latest performance last Saturday night.
Andrew Shilling started off the night by winning the first heat, with Austyn Jennett putting together a solid effort en route to fifth. Jennett was faster in the second qualifier, escaping an incident on Lap 1 en route to fourth. Shilling, though, showed his speed once again en route to another checkered flag.
Starting on row two for the feature, Jennett led the opening laps, and endured a hard battle for the lead. He ultimately fell for third over the next couple of laps, with his teammate Shilling making his way through to second. Shilling would try to track the leader for the top spot, though was unable to make up the ground. As a result, Shilling crossed the finish line in second with Jennett third.
The team was hopeful to have Karlie Wilman on-track for Fan Appreciation Night, though once again ran into mechanical issues.
SKLD Motorsports is proud to be supported by Wilman Haulage, Hamilton Contracting, Able Taxi, The Canoe, SMG Motorsports, Brent Harrison, and Short Track Musings.
