SAUBLE BEACH, Ontario — Despite pushing hard throughout the whole night to make-up ground, Luke Gignac ultimately fell shy of scoring a top-10 finish on Saturday night at Sauble Speedway.
Gignac began the night by placing sixth in his first heat, followed by a fourth in the second qualifier.
Relegated to starting deep in the feature, he would look to move his way forward in the early laps. He’d break into the top-10 by the race’s first caution at Lap 10, battling all the way up to eighth over the next 10 laps.
Though as the race went on, it seemed the handling began to go away, as he began to fall back, dropping back to 11th by the halfway mark. He’d continue to battle hard through the second half in looking to make-up the lost ground, though was unable to en route to placing 12th.
The next race for the Queenston Chevrolet Buick GMC OSCAAR Modifieds is Saturday, June 25 at Sunset Speedway.
