PETERBOROUGH, Ontario — Despite showing speed and battling through issues, Wally Wilson’s Canadian Legend Car Series debut did not go as planned at Peterborough Speedway on Saturday night.
The issues began to plague the team throughout practice, with the muffler coming off during the first session, and then missing the second for repairs. He was ready to go come race time, but wound up missing his first heat due to a loose battery cable. He lined up for the second qualifier, racing to a sixth-place finish despite being mixed in with some of the best in the division.
Starting from the tail of the feature, Wilson was able to work his way forward up to 13th before an oil line blew, causing a big smoke and ending his night early.
Wilson hopes to be back behind the wheel of the Legend at Peterborough Speedway on Saturday, June 11, before returning to his Queenston Chevrolet Buick GMC OSCAAR Modified at Sauble Speedway on Saturday, June 18.
Wally Wilson Racing is proud to be supported by The Fyre Place & Patio Shop, HAVE1.COM, Mister transmission Owen Sound, Napoleon, Larry’s Small Engines, and RPM Racewear in 2022.
