INNISFIL, Ontario — The season opener proved to be tough for ADAMS Motorsports, with the new car blues plaguing them throughout the weekend at Sunset Speedway.
Gignac ultimately missed his first qualifier on Saturday, as a result of mechanical difficulties following practice. Ready to go for Sunday, he was able to rebound to score a sixth-place finish in the second heat.
Starting 14th for the 40-lap feature, Gignac escaped an early incident on the frontstretch without contact, he was able to make up a couple spots in the first half of the race. However, his race hit a snag when he spun around on the frontstretch after a Lap 22 restart, resultin gin having to restart tail of the field.
He would try to battle hard through the second half, ultimately crossing the finish line in 10th.
The next race for the Queenston Chevrolet Buick GMC OSCAAR Modifieds is Saturday, June 18 at Sauble Speedway.
