PETERBOROUGH, Ontario — Despite the weekend starting off on a low, Wally Wilson was able to push through the adversity to run the Queenston Chevrolet Buick GMC OSCAAR Modifieds presented by Just Foam It feature.
The weekend stared off on a rough note right away, as Wilson blew the motor in the car during the first practice on track to start the weekend. Thanks to a generous donation from John Karley, the team had a second motor to put in the car. After a long Friday night with help from Connor James, Rob James, Jase Cornell’s team, Sean Walker’s team, and his entire own pit crew, the motor was in the No. 69 Modified ready to go for Saturday.
Wilson was unable to hit the track on Saturday for practice, as a result of the entire day being rained out with weather in the area.
He would start the feature on Sunday from the tail of the field, running 19th under the first yellow flag at Lap 2. He continued to push hard through the rest of the feature, avoiding incidents that occurred, able to cross the finish line with a 16th-place finish.
Despite some tough moments through the whole season, he was able to finish the year ranked 10th in the final standings.
Wally Wilson Racing is proud to have support from The Fyre Place & Patio Shop, Have1.com, Mister Transmission in Owen Sound, and Napoleon.
