PETERBOROUGH, Ontario — Getting behind the wheel of two different cars over the course of the weekend, Brandon Feeney was able to score a couple top-five finishes.
Behind the wheel of his Ontario Legends Series entry, he scored a fifth-place finish in his lone qualifying heat, before taking part in the Non-Winners Race. He ran up front through the 20 lap event, crossing the finish line with a runner-up.
Starting deep in the field for the main event on Sunday, he would move into 13th on Lap 9, moving up a spot at the halfway mark. He looked to continue to move forward when he went for a slide through the grass following contact on a late-race restart. With help from Boundy Racing, he was able to get back on-track, and cross the finish line in 14th.
Behind the wheel of his freshly put together pure / bone stock, he finished sixth in his lone qualifying heat, setting him up to start 17th for the 40-lap feature. He began to move his way forward immediately, running ninth with just 10 laps on the board.
He would move into eighth over the next three laps, avoiding a couple incidents that occurred during the middle portion of the event to move up to fifth as of Lap 27. He initially fell back to seventh, though fought back through the final 10 laps to cross the finish line in sixth. He was then bumped up to fifth following a post-race disqualification.
