Gignac Rebounds from Qualifying Spin for Top-10 in ACC Feature

PETERBOROUGH, Ontario — Despite the weekend starting off on the wrong foot for Luke Gignac, he was able to rebound for a top-10 finish in the Autumn Colours Classic feature this past weekend at Peterborough Speedway.

The issues began right away with the first race of the weekend, as Gignac would go for a spin in turn three during his qualifier, forcing him to pull off the track early. He then rebounded for a third in the second heat.

Starting 11th for the feature, he would move up to ninth in the opening laps, working his way up to sixth by Lap 5. However, following a restart at Lap 14, he would fall back to 11th once he got stuck on the outside lane. As he worked at trying to rebound, he was able to get back up to ninth by the halfway mark, though was passed in the final 10 laps. He would cross the finish line with a 10th-place finish.

Despite some rocky moments this year, Luke Gignac was able to finish the season ranked eighth in the final standings.
