LONDON, Ontario — Despite catching a small piece of the first lap incident, Luke Gignac battled all feature long en route to an 11th-place finish.
Gignac began the night by placing seventh in his lone qualifying heat, setting him up to start outside of the top-15 for the feature. Chaos would break out on the first lap off the front row through turn two, and while GIgnac slowed up for the contact ahead, he would make slight contact with the driver ahead of him.
He would get a solid start, avoiding another car going around on Lap 3 to move up to 12th. He got a good restart to move up one more spot to 11th, though ultimately was unable to make up any more ground through the rest of the feature.
ADAMS Motorsports will be back in action for the next Queenston Chevrolet Buick GMC OSCAAR Modifieds presented by Just Foam It race at Flamboro Speedway on October 2, 2021. In his last appearance at the Hamilton-Ontario based oval, he scored a fifth-place finish.
