INNISFIL, Ontario — Making moves and keeping himself out of trouble all race long paid off for Jake Spencer-Walt as a smart performance led to a career-best finish at Sunset Speedway’s Fall Velocity.
Spencer-Walt started off the afternoon by placing fourth in the first qualifier, though unfortunately failed to finish the second following a mid-race spin.
Starting seventh for the feature, he battled in the early stages of the event for sixth, initially falling back to seventh. He did not give up, challenging for sixth once again on Lap 8, taking the spot, and tried to make the pass for fifth two laps later. He tried once again on Lap 13, and was successful.
Restarting fifth following a late caution with two laps to go, he made a couple late passes for a third-place finish.
Spencer-Walt is grateful to have support from the following sponsors – B&B General Contracting, Barrie Auto Trim, RC Club Toronto, Harding Construction, GD Coates Superstore, Greensteelroof.ca, and Frame Shop Huntsville.
