INNISFIL, Ontario — As a perfect summery for the way their season has gone in general, SKLD Motorsports experienced a combination of highs and lows at Sunset Speedway’s Fall Velocity.
The afternoon started off on a sour note, with Karlie Wilman unable to start her qualifying heat due to mechanical issues. Despite working on the car through the afternoon, the necessary repairs were unable to be made, ending her night early.
Jennett and Shilling, meanwhile, started off their day solidly with finishes of fourth and fifth in their first qualifier. The second heat saw Jennett run into mechanical issues to end his race early, while Shilling finished fourth,
Starting on pole for the feature, Shilling grabbed the early advantage, as Jennett rounded out the top-10 with three laps on the board. Shilling would pace the field for the next 10 laps, before being passed on Lap 13 as he got stuck in lap traffic. Shilling continued to battle hard, crossing the finish line in eighth as Jennett placed 10th.
SKLD Motorsports is proud to be sponsored by Dee’s Original Smoke Shack, Hamilton Contracting, Wilman Haulage, Unique Crew, Short Track Musings, SMG Motorsports, and The Canoe. Jennett is also proud to receive support from Able Taxie. Also, special shout-out to Holdaway Automotive for their help.
