INNISFIL, Ontario — Leading the most laps in the season-end Fall Velocity feature, Rick Spencer-Walt was able to score enough points to secure the track championship.

Spencer-Walt placed second in his first qualifier, before scoring the victory in the second heat.

Starting third for the 75-lap feature, he would battle for the spot on the opening lap of the feature, for challenging for second on Lap 2. His efforts were rewarded, taking over the runner-up spot just two laps later.

Spencer-Walt continued to move forward, making the pass for the top spot on Lap 6, stretching out his advantage over the field until the race’s first caution at Lap 28 for a spin deeper in the field. He would get a good restart ahead of the field, holding the advantage until the second caution on Lap 36 for a spin on the frontstretch.

The restart would see the field get strung out single-file around the facility, but Spencer-Walt was unable to drive away from Miles Tyson as he kept in touch as the laps ticked on. Tyson would close the gap with about 25 laps to go, getting alongside Spencer-Walt for the top spot on Lap 66. The pair would run side-by-side for several laps, with Tyson grabbing the advantage with five laps to go.

Spencer-Walt tried to pass him back, but ultimately was unable to, crossing the finish line in second to secure the 2021 Limited Late Model Championship.
