INNISFIL, Ontario — Starting deep in the field with each race he ran, Will Gibbons scored a runner-up this past weekend at Sunset Speedway.

Starting at the back of each qualifier he ran, he would make three-wide moves to make his way through the field, finishing second and third amongst the quickest weekly racers each time.

With a 13th-starting spot for the main event, he would work his way up to ninth in the opening eight laps, He continued to move forward, making a three-wide move for fifth at Lap 16 as the yellow flag came out.

Restarting on the third row, he would make a move for fourth, followed by immediately getting up to third with five laps to go. He was able to track down Jeff Laflamme for second, making a move for the spot on the last lap and crossing the line in the runner-up spot.
