MILLGROVE, Ontario — Now that the monkey is off his back, it seems there’s no stopping Cole Quinton now at Flamboro Speedway.
Starting on pole for his qualifying heat, Quinton put together eight solid laps en route to taking the checkered flag. He then carried the momentum into the main event, perfecting the feature behind the wheel of the No. 18 Mustang.
Despite being hounded all race, the rookie maintained his composure en route to leading flag-to-flag and scoring the victory.
“I just want to say great racing with Shawn (Taylor),” he said in victory lane. “He had me nervous. That’s probably the hardest race that I’ve ran in my life. I’ve had some really good races, but that was really tough – my arms are sore after this.
“I just want to thank God for this; he’s been so great in my life. I’ve worked really hard, but I have so many amazing supporters. I have to also thank the boys back in the shop.”
The Spira Racing / Cole Quinton Racing team will continue working hard, hopeful to keep riding the wave of momentum over the next couple of weeks.
“I have to stay focused right now,” he commented. “We have some big events coming up – Velocity next week, and I have to go try to win an igloo at Frostoberfest.”
Quinton is proud to be sponsored by Wheeler Construction, Just Foam It, Spira Fire Protection, JT Excavating, Stage it with Style, Elmsa Steel, Sunvale Homes, Source for Sports, Lucas Oil, Wix Filters, Highgrade Roofing, Pita Pit Orangeville, Nick’s Journey, and Bob’s Ice Cream on-board the No. 18 Mustang.
