INNISFIL, Ontario — Catching the leader in the final five laps, Eric Yorke made the late-race pass to score the Mini Stock victory on Saturday night at Sunset Speedway.
With a trip to victory lane in his last appearance at Sunset a couple weeks ago, the field knew the speed capable of the No. 51 Nissan. It shined through once again, as he was able to make his way through the traffic to move into the runner-up spot with five laps to go.
He then caught Josh Bullen, making the pass and pacing the field the rest of the way to score the win. Bullen held on for a second, extending his points lead in the standings, and giving him five straight top-two finishes, including the victory last week.
Doug Butler ran into issues early in the night with his Nissan, jumping behind the wheel of Lisa Yorke’s car. The move paid off, as he was able to run up front all night en route to a third-place finish. Jeff Laflamme and Mike Robinson Jr. rounded out the top-five.
Curtis Stewart placed sixth, followed by Allan Lankin, Bryan Penny, Connor Maltese, and Terry Woodley. Bob Phinnemore finished 11th, followed by Dylan Bowman, Kyle D’Antimo, and Madisson Tienkamp. Tyler Seaboyer was up to second, when something in the steering broke, resulting in significant contact with the turn one inside wall. He was scored 15th ahead of Kris Inglis, Peter Wakeling, Chandler Bos, Eric Rainey, and Paul Bogensberger Jr.
