INNISFIL, Ontario — As he was headed for another strong top-five finish at Sunset Speedway, Andrew Shilling ran into mechanical issues on Saturday night.
Shilling started off the night showing speed with a third and a second in his pair of qualifiers.
The feature started out strong, as well, as he found himself in a battle for fifth with teammate Austyn Jennett in the early laps. He would escape an incident ahead of him on Lap 5, allowing him to move up to third.
He never got a chance to make his move as following a pair of back-to-back cautions on the next two restart attempts, he came down pit road with no power. It turned out the distributor had gone. He was credited with a 12th-place finish.
Despite this setback, Shilling sits fifth in the standings following four nights of competition, just 34 markers behind points leader Matt Boyes.
