MILLGROVE, Ontario — Continuing to build their notebooks and show more speed each time out, Andrew Shilling and Doug Wilman picked up top-20 finishes last Saturday at Flamboro Speedway.
Wilman started the day on-track in the opening heat, finishing fifth to secure his spot in the main event. Shilling took part in the second qualifier, poised for his first career heat win in pacing eight laps en route to a runner-up. With his performance, Shilling would start inside the top-10, with Wilman hopeful of making his way forward from 15th.
Shilling would drop back a couple spots to 10th in the first quarter of the event, while Wilman took advantage of the track in battling for 12th with Jo Lawrence at Lap 11. Their battles continued throughout the event, with the pair finding each other in the closing stages as they took the checkered flag nose to tail in 16th and 17th, with Shilling ahead of Wilman.
The team plans to return to Flamboro Speedway in October for Frostoberfest.
