INNISFIL, Ontario — After suffering contact while battling for the lead a couple weeks ago, Tyler Seaboyer bounce back in style on Saturday night by winning the G.D. Coates Used Car Superstore Mini Stock feature.
Starting sixth on the grid, Tyler Seaboyer wasted no time making his way forward through the traffic as he made his way into the top spot on Lap 10. From there on, it was smooth sailing en route to second feature win and sixth top-five of 2019. Currently, he leads the standings with just three races remaining on the schedule.
He did not have it easy, though, as Samantha Shaw was charging hard through the final laps, trying to close the gap between herself and Seaboyer. She also did not have it easy, starting ninth on the grid, though she was able to make her way up to second by the 13th lap. It marks the ninth top-five of 2019 in a year that she has finished no worse than fourth.
Melissa Bullen ran upfront throughout the feature to finish third, marking her best finish of 2019 for the third time this season. Jason D’Antimo finished fourth, handing him a season-best performance.
Although Chandler Bos crossed the finish line in fifth, he was disqualified post-race. This bumped Curtis Stewart up to fifth ahead of Peter Wakeling, with Bob Phinnemore disqualified after crossing the finish line in eighth. Chris Thompson was credited with a seventh-place finish ahead of Eric Rainey, Rob Welles, Connor Maltese, and Morgan Robson Jr.
Heat victories to Samantha Shaw (x2), Tyler Seaboyer, and Melissa Bullen.
