Jessica James Continues Peterborough Speedway Domination

Known for her success at Peterborough Speedway via winning two of the last three Autumn Colours Classics, Jessica James once again visited victory lane on Saturday night in the Outlaw Midget feature.

Jody Bound won the first ahead of Jessica James, Steve Lassman, Kevin Spiez, Josh Inglis, Wayne McKibbon, Larry Lawson, Zack Millman, and Mike Locke.

Robin McLean won the second heat ahead of Adam Carrothers, Mike Bradley, Richard Woodland, Lorne Van Dusen, Wally Wilson, Ryan Brown, and Julia Capirchio. Nigel Buttivant failed to finish following mechanical issues.

Jody Bound went for the daily double ahead of James, Lassman, Inglis, McKibbon, Millman, Lawson, and Locke. Kevin Spiez failed to start due to mechanical issues.

The fourth heat featured a scary moment when Buttivant got sideways off of turn two, going backwards up to the backstretch wall, before flipping over. He would uninjured in the incident. Robin McLean went for the daily double ahead of Carrothers, Woodland, Bradley, Van Dusen, Brown, Inglis, Capirchio and Buttivant.

Come feature time, Wayne McKibbon started pole ahead of Richard Woodland, Steve Lassman, Josh Inglis, Adam Carrothers, Jessica James, Mike Bradley, Robin McLean, Lorne Van Dusen, Jody Bound, Ryan Brown, Wally Wilson, Larry Lawson, Zack Millman, Julia Capirchio, Kevin Spiez, and Mike Locke.

Richard Woodland jumped out to the early lead on the second lap with James quickly moving up into second ahead of Carrothers, Inglis, McLean, and McKibbon. McLean continued moving forward, passing Inglis for fourth on Lap 4. However, the caution came out the same lap for Van Dusen going for a spin.

Jessica James got a good restart to grab the lead ahead of Woodland, Carrothers, Bradley, McLean, Inglis, Lassman, Wilson, and Van Dusen. Carrothers would move into second on Lap 8, with Bradley looking to follow suit. McLean put a small wrench in those plans, taking Bradley and Woodland three-wide for third on Lap 9, with Woodland keeping the spot ahead McLean and Bradley.

With 13 laps on the board, James continued to lead with Carrothers up into second ahead of McLean, Woodland, and Bradley. Inglis ran sixth, with Lassman and Van Dusen side-by-side for seventh. Van Dusen got the spot on Lap 16, with Wilson and Spiez rounding out the top-10. Van Dusen would continue to move forward, getting alongside Inglis for sixth, and passing him for the spot on Lap 19.

Jessica James would cruise to victory lane, while Robin McLean was able to use the lap traffic to his advantage and make a last corner, last lap pass on Adam Carrothers to finish second. Richard Woodland and Mike Bradley rounded out the top-five, ahead of Lorne Van Dusen, Josh Inglis, Steve Lassman, Wally Wilson, and Ryan Brown. Kevin Spiez finished 11th, followed  by Julia Capirchio, Wayne McKibbon, Mike Locke, Larry Lawson, Jody Bound, and Zack Millman.
