INNISFIL, Ontario — Battling against stiffer competition and mechanical gremlins, Karlie Wilman and Andrew Shilling just missed placing in the top-10 in their feature on Sunday afternoon.
The first round of qualifying saw Shilling finish fifth in his qualifying heat, with Wilman ninth in hers. The second round of heats was more of the same, with Shilling in seventh and Wilman in eighth.
Starting in the back half for the 20-lap feature, the pair battled hard from the drop of the initial green flag, hopeful of gaining track position. Despite going down a lap, they would not lose any speed, crossing the finish line with Wilman in 13th and Shilling 14th, respectively.
Wilman and Shilling will continue their season this weekend at Sunset Speedway on Saturday, July 6.
