Running up front through the feature, Ron Quesnelle scored a solid top-five finish on Saturday night at Sunset Speedway.
Starting sixth for the 60-lap feature, he’d battle side-by-side with Billy Zardo in the early stages for third. He’d get the spot on Lap 4 where he’d remain for the beginning portion of the feature. He’d challenge Mike Wilkinson for second on Lap 17, but slipped back into third after getting loose off of turn four three laps later. He’d then fall back to fourth before the first caution at the halfway mark.
Restarting fourth, he’d battle side-by-side with Gord Shepherd for third, ultimately slipping back to fifth with 25 laps to go. He’d run there for what appeared to be the remaining of the feature, until he was able to avoid a spin ahead of him to move up into fourth with two laps to go.
Restarting fourth once again, he battled hard and despite getting sideways off of turn four coming to the white flag, he crossed the finish line with a solid fourth-place finish.
Quesnelle will be back in action on the next night of points racing at Sunset Speedway, which will be Saturday, July 7.
