Running upfront, Cameron McGlashan ran into bad luck at Sunset Speedway for the second straight week in a row.
McGlashan started off the night by finishing fifth in the first heat, followed by fourth in the second qualifier.
Starting the No. 00 Mustang on pole for the 30-lap feature, he’d battle side-by-side for the lead with eventual race winner Tyler Seaboyer, slipping back into second. The beginning stages of the race resulted in some hard racing, including a three-wide battle for second, which saw McGlashan slip back to third by Lap 4.
He would look to be set for a solid top-five run when on Lap 8, the tire let go on the mustang, sending him up towards the outside turn one and two wall. McGlashan was able to keep the car off the wall, pulling into the infield, done for the night.
The Dave Middel led team will make the necessary repairs to the mustang in hopes to have a successful run in the next night out at Sunset Speedway, which is July 7.
McGlashan is proud to receive sponsorship from Arbor Aces Tree Care Inc, ORVAuto, and Orillia Metal Fabrication.
