Paul Maltese Scores Second Straight Top-10 at Sunset Speedway

Improving from the drop of the green flag to the end, Paul Maltese would score his second straight top-10 finish on Saturday night at Sunset Speedway.

The night didn’t start off as smoothly, though, as he’d post the 12th-quickest lap in time trials, setting him up to start there for the 60-lap feature. He’d immediately begin to move forward, running eighth after just six laps. He’d slip back to almost outside of the top-10, before getting caught up in an incident with a fellow driver at the halfway mark.

Following some adjustments on pit road, Maltese restarted from the tail of the field. He’d keep himself out of trouble, breaking into the top-10 after avoiding a spin ahead of him with two laps to go. He would get a good final restart, crossing the finish line in seventh.

The team will hope to run in the top-10 once again on Saturday, July 7 in the next night of NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Sauble Falls Tent and Trailer Park Late Model competition at Sunset Speedway.

Lajeunesse Motorsports is proud to be supported by Paragon Office Installation Services, Delmeade Construction Ltd., Ontario Acoustic Supply Inc., and Ontario Steel Sales Inc.
