Daniel Montanari Scores Third Straight Sunset Speedway Mini Stock Victory

When it comes to the Signs of Innovation Mini Stocks, Daniel Montanari has it figured out as he scored his third straight regular night feature victory on Saturday night at Sunset Speedway.

Brad Townsend won the first heat ahead of Dylan Holmes, Tyler Seaboyer, Scott McGregor, Peter Inglis, and Taylor Thring.

The second heat featured a caution at Lap 2 when Jason D’Antimo got into the turn four wall. Daniel Montanari picked up the win ahead of Samantha Shaw, Chandler Bos, Bob Phinnemore, and Eric Rainey.

Dylan Holmes won the third heat ahead of Seaboyer, Townsend, McGregor, Wakeling, and Thring.

Daniel Montanari went for the daily double ahead of Shaw, Bos, Phinnemore, and Rainey.

Come feature time, Dylan Holmes jumped out to the early lead as Chandler Bos and Peter Wakeling battled side-by-side for second. Bos grabbed the runner-up spot on Lap 3, with Daniel Montanari following him through to bump Wakeling back to fourth ahead of Tyler Seaboyer. Seaboyer would then make his way by Wakeling for fourth at Lap 6, with Samantha Shaw following through a lap later to bump Wakeling back to sixth ahead of Brad Townsend.

Montanari’s charge to the front continued as he’d get alongside Bos for second at Lap 8, completing the pass a lap later. Bos’ strong early run hit a snag at Lap 10, though, when he’d go for the spin in turn four. With 15 laps to go, Holmes led Montanari, Seaboyer, Shaw, Wakeling, Townsend, Bob Phinnemore, Scott McGregor, Eric Rainey, Taylor Thring, and Bos.

Holmes got a good restart to keep the lead ahead of Montanari, Shaw, Seaboyer, Townsend, and McGregor. It didn’t take long for Montanari to challenge, though, getting alongside Holmes for the top spot at Lap 13. He would then complete the pass a lap later, with Shaw getting alongside Holmes for second. Behind them, Seaboyer ran fourth ahead of Townsend, Bos, McGregor, and Wakeling, as Phinnemore and Rainey ran side-by-side for ninth ahead of Thring.

Holmes was able to hold off Shaw, clearing her on Lap 18, but he’d get loose off of turn four, allowing her to get right back alongside. The second round battle would be short lived, though, as she fell back in line in third a lap later.

Behind them, Seaboyer and Townsend battled for fourth, with Seaboyer maintaining the position. Bos continued to run fifth ahead of McGregor, Wakeling, Phinnemore, Rainey, and Thring. Wakeling would challenge McGregor for sixth with two laps to go, completing the pass as they came to the checkered.

Daniel Montanari led the way to the checkered flag ahead of Dylan Holmes, Samantha Shaw, Tyler Seaboyer, and Brad Townsend. Chandler Bos finished sixth, followed by Peter Wakeling, Scott McGregor, Bob Phinnemore, Eric Rainey, and Taylor Thring.
