After coming out for a couple events in 2017, Lance Foster was one of the first drivers to commit towards competing with the OSCAAR Hot Rod Series for this upcoming season.
“I’m excited to see how all the new changes work, win, and have fun,” he said.
Foster’s initial interest in the series last year came virtue of his brother Adrian Foster’s involvement with the OSCAAR Outlaw Super Late Models.
“My brother was racing supers, and we wanted to race in the series,” Foster commented. “I’ve always loved old cars.”
Making his series debut at Sunset Speedway’s Velocity 250 last year, he immediately put himself in contention for victory, leading laps in the feature on Sunday afternoon until a late-race spin. With the taste of success satisfied, the goals are simple for this year – win, and have fun.
Being successful, though, is nothing new to the Fosters.
The family has been involved in a variety of racing divisions across Ontario over the past several years, notably with Lance’s brother Adrian posting a season-best third-place finish in OSCAAR Outlaw competition last year at Peterborough Speedway.
Lance has also had his fair share of success, noting his most memorable career moment was winning his first championship. With the pieces coming together early in 2018, it could be the right path to having another title-worthy season for the family.
Before the year kicks off, though, Foster will have his car in the OSCAAR booth at the upcoming Motorama Custom Car and Motorsports Expo. Taking place at the International Centre from March 8 through the 10th, the event brings together some of the best looking cars and racecars for fans to look at, along with industry experts available for autographs and stage discussions.
