Daniel Montanari Scores First Career Mini Stock Feature Victory at Sunset Speedway

After scoring four straight runner-ups, Daniel Montanari broke through to score his first career Signs of Innovation Mini Stock feature victory on Saturday night.

Eric Yorke won the first heat ahead of Stefan Woyslaw, Charlie Smith, Bob Phinnemore, Pat MacDonald, Chandler Bos, Joe Dunlop, Trevor Hemingway, Wendy Adams and Peter Wakeling.

Cameron McGlashan won the second heat ahead of Daniel Montanari, Nic Montanari, Lisa DeLeeuw, Randi Seguin, Branden Bullen, Dylan Holmes, Eric Rainey and Curtis Stewart.

Eric Yorke went for the daily double ahead of Smith, Dunlop, Woyslaw, MacDonald, Bos, Phinnemore, Adams, Hemingway, and Wakeling.

Daniel Montanari won the fourth heat ahead of Nic Montanari, McGlashan, Bullen, Seguin, DeLeeuw, Holmes, Rainey and Stewart.

Come feature time, Chandler Bos started pole ahead of Branden Bullen, Cameron McGlashan, Randi Seguin, Joe Dunlop, Bob Phinnemore, Lisa DeLeeuw, Stefan Woyslaw, Charlie Smith, and Daniel Montanari. Nic Montanari started 11th, followed by Eric Yorke, Peter Wakeling, Eric Rainey, Wendy Adams, Dylan Holmes, Trevor Hemingway, Curtis Stewart, Ken Townsend and Pat MacDonald.

The start saw a battle for the lead between Bos and Bullen ahead of McGlashan, with Bullen taking the top spot on Lap 2 while McGlashan and Seguin ran side-by-side for second. McGlashan got the spot on Lap 3, with Daniel Montanari following him through a lap later to bump Seguin back o fourth ahead of Phinnemore. Yorke then passed Phinnemore, getting alongside Seguin for fourth at Lap 5.

At the front, Bullen continued to lead as McGlashan and Daniel Montanari went side-by-side for second at Lap 6 right behind him. Yorke got the fourth spot, with Smith and Nic Montanari following him through a lap later. Seguin now ran seventh ahead of Woyslaw, Phinnemore, Dunlop, DeLeeuw, Bos, MacDonald, and Rainey.

The battle for the top spot remained tight, with both Daniel Montanari and McGlashan continuing to run side-by-side right behind Bullen. Montanari was able to find the hole first, getting beside Bullen and clearing him to take the top spot on Lap 11. Yorke then followed him through to grab second a lap later ahead of Bullen, with McGlashan back to fourth ahead of Smith.

Smith then passed McGlashan at the halfway point to take the fourth spot, with Nic Montanari continuing to run sixth. Smith then got alongside Bullen on Lap 14, passing him for third a lap later and bringing McGlashan and Montanari through with him. Bullen now ran sixth ahead of Seguin, Woyslaw, Dunlop and DeLeeuw.

Daniel Montanari then led the rest of the way en route to scoring the victory ahead of Eric Yorke, Charlie Smith, Cameron McGlashan and Nic Montanari. Branden Bullen finished sixth, followed by Randi Seguin, Stefan Woyslaw, Joe Dunlop and Lisa DeLeeuw.
