Will Gibbons off to Solid Start with Brand New Car at Sauble Speedway

With two nights of competition in the books, Will Gibbons has kicked off his season solidly at Sauble Speedway so far this year.

Debuting the team’s brand new CRX on opening night, Gibbons started fifth in the feature and quickly made his way to the front, taking the lead halfway through the event. Unfortunately, ignition issues struck with two laps to go, resulting in him fading back to fifth-place by the finish.

After putting in hours throughout the week with his wife and kids, Gibbons was able to find the issue and get it fixed for the second night of competition. This past Friday, he would finish second in the first heat after early race contact with another competitor, followed by a runner-up in the second heat after starting fourth.

Starting sixth in the main event, he got boxed in early in the race, almost getting together with his brother-in-law Kevin Bridge on the first lap. After the restart, more contact ensued with another competitor, sending him for a bath through the track’s infield. He would get back on-track without a caution, half a lap behind the leaders. He caught back up to them, finishing mid-pack just inside of the top-10.

Now with two solid nights under his belt, the focus shifts towards keeping the momentum rolling into the third night of competition on July 15 at Sauble Speedway.

Will Gibbons and Gibbons Racing are proud to be supported by Truckers Toy Store, Norm’s Fast Lube, Stop 23 Auto Sales, and RW Rust Control.
