It’s just a matter of days now till you can officially pronounce the off-season over – and cure a need for speed that’s been burning since Autumn Colours. However, some drivers got their fix already as the first practice session of 2017 was busy at Sunset Speedway was busy on Good Friday. Here’s a rough recap of what you should know.
While original plans for JL Motorsports appeared to be sending the team in a different direction, there’s been a change in heart. The team officially confirmed a couple weeks ago they will be returning to Sunset Speedway’s Sauble Falls Tent and Trailer Park Limited Late Model division for 2017.

After an incredible rookie campaign, Luke Gignac will return to the OSCAAR Modified Series in 2017 with ADAMS Motorsports.
After spending a couple years out of the driver’s seat, Robbie Sikes is getting back at it this season. Sikes will race the No. 37 Super Stock full-time at Sunset Speedway, as a teammate to Jade Franklin.
Armed with a newer car for 2017, it’s easy to see why Stefan Woyslaw is looking forward to hitting the race track in a couple weeks.
