Dustyn Mombourquette Victorious in Don Biederman Memorial at Flamboro Speedway

MILLGROVE, Ontario — In a night of honouring past racers, the Saturday of Frostoberfest saw fans treated to a good night of racing at Flamboro Speedway.

Dustyn Mombourquette made the late-race pass to take over the top spot, leading the final 12 laps en route to Hoosier Racing Tire / Bicknell Racing Products to win the Don Biederman Memorial for his first career JRS Auctions OSCAAR Super Late Models presented by Just Foam It feature victory.

T.J Edwards crossed the finish line in second not far behind Mombourquette, allowing him to be crowned the 2026 OSCAAR Super Late Model Champion after a consistent season across the province. Edwards led early, and managed to keep himself close once he lost the top spot at Lap 23. He would inherit the lead back with 13 laps to go, though was unable to hold off Mombourquette on the final restart.

Dario Capirchio rebounded for a third-place finish despite going around for a spin on the frontstretch ahead of Todd Campbell and Trevor Monaghan. Mike Miller put together a solid sixth-place result in front of Will Quarrie, Brandon Passer, Glenn Watson, and Brad Robinson. Passer looked to have the fastest car on the property, scoring the Shepherd Media Fast Qualifier Award and finding his way to the lead early in the event. However, a mechanical issue with the rear-end of the racecar ended his chances at winning at Lap 37.

The current Overkill Enterprise OSCAAR Modified points leader Dale Reinhart found himself starting on the second row after a strong qualifying effort, wasting no time in taking over the second-place spot. He then stalked the race leader Steve Trendell for a series of laps, making his move and taking over the lead on Lap 15. He led the remainder of the 47-lap feature en route to visiting Knightworks Design victory lane.

Jason Keen found his way to the front after taking The Car Guy green flag from the third row, and looked as though poised to close in on Reinhart for the race lead. He came up short in his bid, crossing the finish line in second-place. Bryan Batty picked up a third-place finish ahead of Rick Burbridge and Brent McLean.

Early race leader Steve Trendell faded back for a sixth-place finish in front of Matt Haufe, Amanda Balson, Coltin Everingham, Ryan Dick, and Rodney Rutherford. Wally Wilson was blackflagged for leaking fluid early in the event, and with no cautions, he was unable to return, ultimately rounding out the field.

Heat wins went to Dale Reinhart and Rick Burbridge.

After finding himself on his lid at last year’s edition of the Bill Zardo Memorial, Lane Zardo came out swinging at this year’s event and dominated, pacing all 46 laps en route to visiting Knightswork Design victory lane with The Fyre Place & Patio Shop OSCAAR Hot Rods presented by Bromley Automotive Ltd. It marks the second win of the season for the grandson of the late racer.

Tyler Hawn saw The Car Guy Auto Service green flag on the front row alongside Zardo and kept him in his sights, but was never able to mount a charge en route to second. It is enough for the past series champion to carry the points lead into the season finale at Peterborough Speedway by a single point over Steve Book. Book crossed the finish line in third ahead of Jacob Booth and Thomas Wunsch.

Trevor Thompson drove his Camaro to a sixth-place finish in front of Daniel Hawn, Adrian Foster, Drew Richardson, and Rob Poole. Luke Gignac, Ayden McNicol and Aaron McLean rounded out the field.

Heat victories went to Lane Zardo and Tyler Hawn.

Jordan Latimer went on to dominate the Ontario Legends Series / Great Lakes Legend Series feature after winning one of the three heat races earlier in the day. The battle for second was close, with a trio of drivers staying under a blanket through the second half of the event. Dawson Drimmie crossed the line as the runner-up ahead of Andy Kamrath, Parker Traves, and Cole Kamrath. Mackenzie Milwain scored a sixth in front of Cole McFadden, John Milwain, Adam Cuthbertson, and Caleb Drimmie.

Keaton Pipe battled his way to 11th, followed by Del Freiburger, Gibson Baker, Thomas Gibbons, Rob Aggleton, Matt Thompson, Chris Milwain, Austin Arnel, Jesse Kennedy, Hudson Nagy, Mike Wallace, Nathan Killins, Andy Toms, Todd Tolton, Josh Hostelle, and Andrew McFadden.

Heat victories went to Parker Traves, Jordan Latimer, and Cole Kamrath.

Rob Wark took the lead on Lap 2, and led the remainder of the 25-lap feature to score the victory in the Street Stock event ahead of Trevor Critchley, Kevin Findlay, Jake Pardy, and Luke Bos. Drew Richardson ran inside the top-five throughout, fading late for sixth, in front of Mark King, Todd Loughnan, Ace Ahrig, and Austin Hunt. Lyle Lorenz, Zach Sprung and Damion Harrison rounded out the field. Heat victories went to Trevor Critchley and Rob Wark.

Mike Bradley ran upfront throughout the feature, but only got the Outlaw Midgets presented by Glenn Styres Racing checkered flag by 0.028 seconds ahead of Fred Homewood when the checkered waved. Rob McCall, Dave Inglis and Kevin Spiesz completed the top-five ahead of Cam Greig, Brett Dorion, Larry Lawson, Jason Metcalfe, and Ryan Lusk. Ryan Brown, Nick Adamson, Dave Bradley, Hunter Kavanaugh, and Nick Spiesz completed the field.

Ryan Brown picked up the win in the qualifying feature in front of Jason Metcalfe, Fred Homewood, Rob McCall, and Mikey Homewood.

Caleb Goertz worked his way through the field, taking the lead in the final laps to win the first Mini Truck feature ahead of Edwin Hyde, Hayden Sim, Malachi Buesink, and Grayson Masson. Dylan Gramham crossed the finish line in sixth in front of Dan Collins, Judah Buesink, Mike Beneteau, and Carson Sim.

Mike Beneteau rebounded in fashion to win the second Mini Truck feature ahead of Malachi Buesink, Dylan Gramham, Hayden Sim, and Edwin Hyde. Grayson Masson made his way forward for sixth in front of Caleb Goertz, Carson Sim, Judah Buesink, and Dan Collins. Collins had the scary moment of the day, flipping over on the backstretch and catching fire. He was okay.

The next scheduled event at Flamboro Speedway takes place on Saturday, September 17, with Halloween Enduro 300 and Pure Stock Special.
