MILLGROVE, Ontario — Shawn Chenoweth continues to prove why he is one of the best drivers at Flamboro Speedway, as evident with another trip to victory lane this past weekend on Saturday, June 20.
Chenoweth qualified second for the Steel City Super Stock Rumble Series event, just 0.070 seconds off the quick time posted by defending series champion Lane Zardo. The invert, though, saw the pair moved back a couple rows and have to deal with traffic. Chenoweth took it with ease, making his way to the lead at the halfway mark to pace the second-half of the event en route to the checkered flag. Zardo was second ahead of Justin Collison, Chad Corcoran, and Nick Troback. Coltin Everingham was sixth despite being involved in an incident on Lap 6 in front of Cole Burrows, Kevin Trevelin, Nic Ramsay, and Johnny Morrison.
Tim Norris scored the victory in the first Ontario Pro Challenge feature ahead of Mike Norris, Travis Majuery, Maddux Pepin, and Jae Pepin. Mike O’Connell led the opening 14 laps, fading back to sixth in front of Emma Norris, Colton Clark, Ethan Fleet, and Sterling Hattin.
Ethan Fleet won the second feature of the night ahead of Emma Norris, Colton Clark, Tim Norris, and Travis Majuery. Jae Pepin finished sixth in front of Mike Norris, Sterling Hattin, Maddux Pepin, and Mike O’Connell.
Matt Young made it three wins in a row by winning the first Klotz Auto Repair Mini Stock feature on the night ahead of Shawn Taylor, Mike Thomson, Tyler Lewis, and Wyatt Sutcliffe. Michael Kenny battled his way forward for sixth in front of Andrew Smith, Louis Mehlenbacher, Nikki Richmond, Blaise Shaw, and Bobby Mercer.
Matt Young went for the daily double in the second feature ahead of Tyler Lewis, Blaise Shaw, Shawn Taylor, and Wyatt Sutcliffe. Mike Thomson ran up front early, falling back to sixth in front of Michael Kenny, Bobby Mercer, Andrew Smith, Nikki Richmond, and Louis Mehlenbacher.
Brandyn Milligan kept his season turnaround going strong with a victory in the first Hogan Law & McClurkin Properties of Cambridge Pure Stocks feature ahead of Matt Young, Chase Mitchell, Rodney Rutherford, and Gary Slama. Spencer Riddell battled his way forward for sixth in front of Leo Labarbera, Rick Mitchell, Mark Allan, and Rachel Mitchell. Rogan Monaghan made his way through traffic for 11th, followed by Hailey Hill, Megan Mitchell, Dan Ramey, John Cote, and Chance Rodgers.
Chase Mitchell found his way to victory lane in the second feature ahead of Matt Young, Gary Slama, Spencer Riddell, and Rachel Mitchell. Leo Labarbera was sixth in front of John Cote, Brandyn Milligan, Megan Mitchell, and Rick Mitchell. Mark Allan ran inside the top-five early, falling back for 11th, followed by Hailey Hill, Rogan Monaghan, and Rodney Rutherford.
The next event at Flamboro Speedway on Saturday, June 27, will is one of the season’s $15 Admission Night, where you get a discount at the front gates to watch the action. That action will include Grindstone Landscaping Canadian Vintage Modifieds (Dash 4 the Flag), Great Lakes Legend Series, SOMA Pro 4 Modifieds, Mini Stocks & GEN3 SportsMods, plus kid bike races.
Don’t forget that Flamboro Speedway is also in action on Tuesday, June 30 with the JRS Auctions OSCAAR Super Late Models presented by Just Foam It Gold Rush 126 and Bone Stock 30-lap Gold Rush invitational.
