Rick Spencer-Walt Keeps Good Times Rolling En Route to Hot Rod Victory

PETERBOROUGH, Ontario — For the second straight week in a row, Rick Spencer-Walt stood in victory lane at the completion of a race night. However, it wasn’t behind the wheel of his late model this past weekend.

The Upgrade would make his second appearance in the Knightworks Design OSCAAR Hot Rods, driving the No. 31 Ford Thunderbird for Rob Bromley and Peter Schotanus. There was speed from the beginning of the night, as evident by winning his opening heat. He then backed it up with a third in his second qualifier.

Starting eighth for the 30-lap feature virtue of the qualifying invert, he began to make his way forward immediately, running second with just 10 laps on the board. He began to work on reeling in the leader for the top spot when the caution came out on Lap 20.

Spencer-Walt got a good restart on the top side, taking over the top spot and pulling away en route to picking up the checkered flag.

Spencer-Walt will be back behind the wheel of his familiar No. 31W Late Model as the APC Auto Parts United Late Model Series visits Sunset Speedway on Saturday, August 12.

Shout-out to Bromley Automotive and Peter Built Racecars for their sponsorship for the Ford Thunderbird.
