MILLGROVE, Ontario — Despite having to start at the tail of the field for both 30-lap features as a rookie, Cole Quinton was able to come away with a solid night at Flamboro Speedway in the form of two top-10 finishes.
The first feature saw him start things off by feeling out the No. 18 Late Model as he begins his rookie campaign. He began to make his way forward, though, running eighth with just seven laps on the board. Unfortunately, a lack of cautions stopped him from being able to move forward as that’s where he’d take the checkered flag.
He looked to take the momentum in the second 30-lap affair, but was unable to make his way forward in the beginning stages of the event. He would make a pass in the final five laps, coming away with a ninth-place finish.
“Tough night last night as it wasn’t what we hoped for,” he commented. “(I) was forced to start at the tail both features, and we ran into some issues with the car throughout the night. I can’t thank my team enough for the hard work they put in last night; we made strides. I got a great group around me and I’m looking forward to this year once we get things working better. Just gotta keep at it and come back better in two weeks time.
“No quit out of 18 team. We’ll be back.”
