INNISFIL, Ontario — When the Bradley brothers began competing against each other in Outlaw Midgets presented by Canadian Tire Innisfil action, they dreamed of having a one-two finish in feature action. It happened on Saturday night at Sunset Speedway, with Mike Bradley picking up the checkered flag in front of Dave Bradley.
The night started off a little messy, with Dave Inglis going around in turn two on Lap 4. Dave Bradley got the checkered flag ahead of Jessica James, Jason Metcalfe, Kevin Spiez, and Dan Kiviring.
Jamie Kay was victorious in the second qualifier, followed by Larry Lawson, Mike Bradley, Rob Harrison, and Kayla Semple.
Jessica James won the third heat in front of Dave Bradley, Inglis, Metcalfe, Spiez, and Kviring.
Jamie Kay went for the daily double ahead of Lawson, Harrison, Mike Bradley, Semple, and Russ Couture.
Come feature time, Jamie Kay led the field to green in front of Dave Bradley, Jessica James, Larry Lawson, Rob Harrison, Mike Bradley, Kevin Spiez, Dave Inglis, Kayla Semple, Dan Kviring, Jason Metcalfe, and Russ Couture.
Dave Bradley grabbed the early advantage ahead of Kay and James, but the caution flew for Semple going around in turn two. The restart would see lots of big moves being made, with James looking to slip up in front of Lawson for position. The move would result in contact, seeing James’ make contact with the wall and catch air in the process. She was okay, but done for the event.
Bradley got a good restart as Kay remained second, now in front of Mike Bradley, Harrison, Inglis, and Lawson. Mike Bradley would challenge Kay for second on Lap 4, with Lawson and Inglis side-by-side a lap later for fourth. Inglis’ challenge was short lived, though, as he slowed with an issue in turns one and two for the third caution at Lap 6. The restart would see a multi-car crash in turns one and two involving Inglis, Lawson, Kay, and Semple.
The second attempt saw a battle for the lead between the Bradley brothers, with Mike Bradley grabbing the advantage in front of Dave Bradley on Lap 9 as Metcalfe now ran third in front of Harrison, Inglis, and Kviring. Kviring challenged Inglis for fifth on Lap 10, but was unable to get the spot.
Mike Bradley scored the victory in front of Dave Bradley, Jason Metcalfe, Rob Harrison, and Dave Inglis.
