INNISFIL, Ontario — Running up front throughout the night, Cole Quinton picked up a top-five finish on Saturday night at Sunset Speedway.
He started off the night scoring the victory in the first heat, despite being heavily challenged by a past track series champion, including a bump on Lap 7 that got him sideways. He carried the momentum to the second round of qualifying, making his way forward for a third-place finish.
Come time for the main event, he took the green flag in the 10th position, working his way up to sixth in the opening couple of laps. He would crack the top-five shortly thereafter, and began working on trying to track down the next driver ahead of him.
He was able to gain another spot, and found himself on the back bumper of the top-three across the finish line, placing fourth.
Quinton has scored seven podiums in his last eight mini stock appearances including two victories, and has 17 top-five’s through 18 starts this season.
