Austyn Jennett Leads SKLD Motorsports to Top-Five Result

INNISFIL, Ontario — In another trying day at the track for SKLD Motorsports, Austyn Jennet led the team in the results with a fifth-place finish.

Andrew Shilling was the leading man in the first heat with a second, while Jennett placed fifth with Karlie Wilman in eighth. Jennett led a couple laps in the second qualifier en route to a runner-up, with Shilling and Wilman scored fourth and fifth, respectively.

With Jennett starting on pole for the 20-lap feature, he grabbed the early advantage as Shilling looked to fall in line behind him after qualifying sixth. Jennett led until the first caution at Lap 3, where he was taken three-wide by a pair of his fellow competitors, fading back to fifth.

Shilling ultimately fell back further in the field, battling for the ninth spot at the halfway mark. He got the spot, and challenged for eighth just three laps later. Unfortunately, contact along the way would see him unable to complete the pass.

Jennett carried his consistency to the checkered flag with a fifth, while Shilling crossed the finish line in eighth, but was disqualified post-race due to driver misconduct. Wilman turned a deep starting spot in the field into a 12th-place finish.

SKLD Motorsports is proud to be supported by Wilman Haulage, Hamilton Contracting, Able Taxi, The Canoe, SMG Motorsports, Brent Harrison, and Short Track Musings.
