INNISFIL, Ontario — The impressive season continued for Calvin Reesor this past weekend at Sunset Speedway, as evident by another trip to feature victory lane.

The secret the success was simple as he said in victory lane, “I got told to stop thinking about (the points) and win, so here we are.”

Reesor was quick from the initial green flag on Saturday evening, as evident by a fifth in the first heat, followed by a third in the second qualifier.

Starting sixth for the 20-lap feature, he moved up to third in the first couple laps, challenging for second before the second caution for debris at Lap 3. He would get a strong restart, going three-wide for the lead, with one of his fellow competitors getting into the outside wall to draw the yellow flag once again.

He put together another impressive restart, taking over the top spot with just six laps on the board. From there on, he led the final 14 laps despite being heavily challenged the ensuing restart with six laps to go.

Returning to the speedway the next day, the speed was there once again with Reesor placing fifth in the first heat, followed by a runner-up in the second qualifier.

Taking the green flag from fifth this time around, he moved up to third in the opening laps, looking poised to challenge for the win once again. He would battle all the way until the first yellow flag with four laps on the board, going three-wide for second on the restart. This time around, he came out in the third spot, holding off the hard chargers behind him as he weaved his way through lap traffic.

He maintained the third spot all the way until the late caution with two laps to go, getting a good restart to cross the finish line in fourth.

Notably, Calvin Reesor has scored eight top-five’s in 12 races this season.

Currently ranked second in the standings, just 23 points behind the leader, he will look to put together a solid performance on the final points night of the season on Saturday, September 10.
