BRIGHTON, Ontario — Relying on the knowledge that has led him to success in the past, Steve Book was able to capture the Qwick Wick OSCAAR Hot Rod feature fueled by EPIC Racewear victory at Brighton Speedway on Saturday.
Brandon Crumbie won the first JRS Auctions Heat subbing for Jeremy McLean ahead of Ryan Cowan, Bill Clarke, Gary Hannah, Paul Senior, Matt Spry, Sean Walker, and Bill Zardo Sr.
Steve Book was victorious in the second qualifier in front of Nick Clarke, Rob Bromley, Ralph Book, Connor Ellis, Steven Mayhew, and Art Rodgers.
Come feature time, it was Ryan Cowan putting the Pontiac out front for the first couple laps, before being passed by Brandon Crumbie. Crumbie seemingly had the Chevelle working to his favor as he looked to bring McLean Motorsports their first feature victory. However, the halfway mark saw a change in the tide with Steve Book tracking him down for the top spot.
Steve Book would put the Studebaker Hawk out front, and from there on, drove away from the field en route to victory. Nick Clarke carved his blue mustang through lap traffic, passing Brandon Crumbie to score a runner-up. Rob Bromley and Connor Ellis rounded out the top-five in the caution-free feature.
The next race for the Qwick Wick OSCAAR Hot Rods is scheduled for Saturday, August 20 at Sauble Speedway.
OSCAAR is proud to be supported by Qwick Wick Fire Starters, Sauble Falls Tent and Trailer Park, JRS Auctions, Point S Tire and Auto Services, Knightworks Design, McColl Racing Enterprises, EPIC Racewear, and The Fyre Place & Patio Shop.
