INNISFIL, Ontario — Despite being faced with adversity, SKLD Motorsports powered through for a trio of top-10 finishes on Saturday night at Sunset Speedway.

Andrew Shilling and Austyn Jennett would lead the field to green for the first heat, both looking to visit victory lane following the team’s recent success. They were unable to complete the feat, but came close with a second and third, respectively. Karlie Wilman tried to work her way forward from the back, crossing the finish line in fifth.

The second heat was supposed to see Wilman start pole this time around, but mechanical issues with her car saw her head to the pits under the pace laps. The boys were able to work their way forward to repeat their success, though, once again placing second and third.

Come feature time, Shilling hoped to visit victory lane for the second time in 2022, though knew it would not be easy starting eighth. He worked his way forward quickly, breaking into the top-five by Lap 4. He continued to move forward, taking over fourth just past the halfway mark. He was unable to track down the leaders with a lack of cautions, crossing the finish line in fourth.

Austyn Jennett started closer to the front in third, but dropped back in the early laps to outside of the top-five. He would try to make his way back forward, moving back up to eighth at the halfway mark. He looked to gain more positions in the second half, once again bit by a lack of cautions en route to eighth.

Karlie Wilman started at the back of the field, and was able to make some early passes to gain some ground. Despite almost finding herself wrecked courtesy of contact with another driver before the halfway mark, she pushed through to score a 10^th-place finish.
