INNISFIL, Ontario — Despite being involved in a couple incidents on Saturday night at Sunset Speedway, Chris Allard was able to score a top-10 feature finish.
He looked to start off the night strong in the first heat, running up front throughout en route to coming out on top in a late-race battle for fourth. He repeated the performance in the second round of qualifying, placing fifth.
He started up front for the feature, grabbing the early advantage on the opening lap. He would lead the first series of laps, before being challenged for the top spot. Unfortunately, he and the other competitor would make contact, resulting in a yellow flag and trip to the back of the pack. Coming back through the pack would not go smoothly, as there was more contact along the way.
Despite the adversity, Allard kept battling his way forward through the running order, crossing the finish line in seventh.
It marks his seventh straight top-10.
