Wally Wilson Scores Pair of Top-10’s to Cap off July

PETERBOROUGH, Ontario — Racing two different cars at two unique speedways over the weekend, Wally Wilson picked up a pair of top-10 finishes.

Behind the wheel of his Queenston Chevrolet Buick GMC OSCAAR Modified at Peterborough Speedway on Saturday, he placed fifth after a couple side-by-side battles, and then raced hard to a fourth in the second qualifier.

Starting ninth for the 40-lap feature, he would move up a spot to eighth in the opening laps, though ultimately faded back in the second half of the race to cross the finish line in ninth.

He would make the trip to Sauble Speedway on Saturday, hopeful of having similar success behind the wheel of his INEX Legend. The team was plagued with mechanical issues through qualifying, with Wilson finishing fifth in both of his heats.

He would hope to have a strong run in the feature, but was sidelined in the opening laps as a result of a broken upper link mount. He would be credited with a 10th-place finish.

The team hopes to fix the broken part this week and have Wilson back at the track behind the wheel of the Legend once again on Saturday.

Wally Wilson Racing is proud to be supported by The Fyre Place & Patio Shop, HAVE1.COM, Mister Transmission Owen Sound, Napoleon, and RPM Racewear in 2022.
