INNISFIL, Ontario — Despite going around for a spin, Cole Quinton would rebound for a podium finish.
Quinton started off Spring Velocity in victory lane, scoring the victory in his first heat. He then fought from the back in the second qualifier to score a third-place finish.
Starting fourth for the feature, he would look to move his way forward in the early stages, making a move for position on Lap 4. Unfortunately, contact as he took the position sent him around for a spin in turn two.
A quick trip down pit road, and an air pressure adjustment, he lined back up at the tail of the field. He moved into ninth in the early stages, taking a pair of competitors three-wide on Lap 11 to take over the sixth. He continued to move forward, breaking into the top-five and up to fourth just four laps later.
With a lack of cautions, the field got strung out around the whole speedway, making the move for third a little more challenging in having to make up the lost ground. He was able to do so, though, taking over the third spot on Lap 22.
Although the lap times were still some of the fastest on the track, he was unable to close the gap to the leaders by the checkered, crossing the finish line in third. It marks his fourth straight top-five following a pair of thirds and fourth.
