2021 Queenston Chevrolet Buick GMC OSCAAR Modified Champion – T.J. Edwards

Consistently showing speed with solid finishes throughout the full duration of the 2021 Queenston Chevrolet Buick GMC OSCAAR Modifieds presented by Just Foam It campaign paid off, as T.J. Edwards was able to take home the championship in his rookie season.

Edwards came out of the box strong, scoring a heat victory at Sunset Speedway, and moved his way to the front quickly in the feature to second by Lap 11. He would make his move for the top spot with two laps to go, with contact happening, relegating him back to 14th. Returning to the Innisfil facility two weeks later, he scored another qualifier win, and ran second throughout the duration for a runner-up.
Excitement followed him to Sauble Speedway, with eyes focused on the No. 34 in knowing he’d be fast with previous track experience. Starting sixth after qualifying was rained out, he ran inside the top-five for the entire event, ultimately scoring his second straight runner-up finish.

Returning back to Sunset, he scored another heat victory prior to starting sixth for the feature. He remained there through the first half of the event, making a charge in the later stages to place second. He was also fast in his first appearance at Delaware Speedway, running third until Lap 23 when he was able to make his move for the second spot, scoring his fourth consecutive runner-up.

Flamboro Speedway was a repeat of what fans had come to expect when the No. 34 unloaded, as evident by another heat victory. He made his way forward in the feature after starting seventh, running second by the halfway mark. He was unable to track down Andy Kamrath for another week, though, scoring another runner-up.

Starting seventh for the final feature of the season at Peterborough Speedway, he moved up into fourth in the early stages. He then made a pass in the final four laps to place third, and clinched the championship.

With four heat wins and six feature top-five’s in hand at season’s end, Edwards proved once again that consistency is the crucial en route to being a series champion. though he also showed speed that will definitely have his competitors looking in their rearview mirror in 2022, knowing he’s a weekly contender for wins.
