10th In Knightworks Design OSCAAR Hot Rod Standings – Sean Walker

By showing perseverance throughout the season behind the wheel of two different vehicles, and having a couple strong runs to his credit, Sean Walker was able to score a 10th-place finish in the Knightworks Design OSCAAR Hot Rod standings.

Although his season did not kick off well in qualifying for the season opener at Sunset Speedway resulting in starting deep in the field, Walker was able to stay out of trouble and make his way forward for a solid 15th-place finish. He returned to the Innisfil, Ontario facility two weeks later, though was not as lucky this time around with a 21st.

As we’ve seen drivers in the past, smiles adorned Walker’s face in the series’ lone trip on dirt at Brighton Speedway. Continuing to learn his limits through the day paid off en route to his first top-10 of 2021 with a ninth. The driver of the Station Wagon backed it up with a solid 15th at Sauble Speedway a week later, despite having to start deep in the field with qualifying rained out.

The month of August capped off with a trip home to Peterborough Speedway for Walker. Despite starting off the day rough involved in a qualifying incident, he led the feature early and battled throughout the feature to a ninth-place finish.

The return to Sunset Speedway to kick off September did not go as highly as hoped with Walker struggling throughout the event, but a fourth in a qualifying heat, and running inside the top-15 during the feature at Flamboro Speedway to finish 13th brought back the confidence.

He then returned to Peterborough to cap off the season, keeping the Station Wagon inside the top-15 all day en route to 14th.

Although the performance was a handful at times for Walker, he proved to cap the attention of everyone with one of the most unique builds in the series. A Station Wagon is probably not what fans were thinking they’d be seeing when Dave Gainforth kicked everything off a couple years ago.

They say practice makes perfect, and Walker getting more laps underneath him with this car could prove be what he needs to move forward.

The 2021 OSCAAR Hot Rod season is sponsored by Knightworks Design and The Sauble Falls Tent and Trailer Park Campground.
