MILLGROVE, Ontario — Despite having to restart the tail of the field in the early stages of the Pro Late Model Frostoberfest event, Rick Spencer-Walt was able to make his way to the front for a top-five finish.
Spencer-Walt started off the day by putting down a lap of 15.323 seconds in time trials to qualify eighth for the feature. He would drop back a spot initially, before coming to a stop on the backstretch with an issue with eight laps on the board.
Following a pit stop, he would return to the track, restarting from the tail of the field. he was able to begin making his way forward, keeping contact to a minimum. Despite a slew of back-to-back cautions, he avoided the trouble to find himself back in the top-10 by Lap 34. The progress continued over a couple of restarts, with Spencer-Walt up to fifth by Lap 67.
Restarting on the third row, he was able to make his way into fourth and started to close on the top-three, when the caution came out for an incident on the frontstretch. Restarting fourth with four laps to go, he was unable to make his way forwad, crossing the finish line with a fourth-place finish.
