INNISFIL, Ontario — Driving two totally different cars over the weekend, Wally Wilson scored a top-10 finish at Sunset Speedway.
On Saturday with the Outlaw Midgets presented by Canadian Tire Innisfil, Wilson started off the night by placing third and fourth in his qualifying heats.
Starting sixth in the feature, he would fall back in the first half of the event to eighth by the mid-race caution. Restarting on the fourth row, he would get alongside Kevin Spiez for seventh, just as the second yellow flag waved for debris on Lap 12.
Another restart in the books, and he would get back alongside Spiez for the position. The perseverance paid off, as he would move into seventh on Lap 20, making a late-race pass for a sixth-place finish.
On Sunday with the Queenston Chevrolet Buick GMC OSCAAR Modifieds presented by Just Foam It, Wilson placed fifth in his first qualifier, only for the second qualifier to be cancelled due to a lengthy wreck clean-up and impending weather.
Starting 11th in the feature, he would fade back in the early laps, ultimately crossing the finish line with a 16th-place finish.
