Reesor Racing Scores Top-10 Finish at Sunset Speedway

INNISFIL, Ontario — In a weekend that saw two different days of racing with a different face behind the wheel each day, Reesor Racing left Sunset Speedway this past weekend with a top-10 finish.

Calvin Reesor started the weekend behind the wheel on Saturday, placing fifth in both of his qualifying heats.

Starting third in the feature, he would drop back to ninth in the first five laps with motor issues, where he’d remain for the rest of the duration of the event.

The Reesor Racing team went back to the shop, and stayed up the night putting a new motor in the car to be ready for Sunday.

With crew chief Chris Allard behind the wheel, he would score an eighth-place finish in the first qualifier heat as the team worked in the new motor.

Starting 15th in the feature, Allard quickly made up ground, getting side-by-side Rick VanKleef for fifth on Lap 3, and taking the spot a lap later. Unfortunately, his move for fourth on Lap 9 did not work out as well, with contact taking the No. 2 out of competition. He would be credited with a 22nd-place finish.

Reesor’s first season at Sunset Speedway is supported by Barrie Nissan, OS Custom Exhaust & Performance, One Stop Muffler and Brake, Bullseye Axe Throwing, Barrie Fiberglass Pools and Spas, Barney’s Auto Electric, Auto Trim of Barrie, Greywood Custom Stairs and Railings, and Shepherds Docks.
